Models with Disabilities rock the catwalk at New York Fashion Week Show

Sometimes, fashion world can seem like a intimidating and judgmental industry but an Italian fashion company, FTL MODA,  is working hard to change this impression.

Named FTL Moda Loving You, the fashion show was opened at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week runway show on Sunday, Feb. 15, in collaboration with Fondazione Vertical – an Italian foundation supporting research to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Disabled models from around the world featured in this show created by designer Antonio Urzi. Some of the catwalk models were amputees and others were bound by their wheelchairs or walked on canes.

For me it’s just an honor to be able to work on this amazing project! We are so proud to have the opportunity to enhance the amazing skills of these professional Models of Diversity models

They are so inspiring and didn’t let their physical problems get in the way of making something wonderful or a bold political and fashion statement.

Check out this stunning ladies and gent, bellow the proof that anyone can be beautiful, unique and can rock an entire New York fashion show.

British personal trainer Jack Eyers was the first male amputee model to walk runway in Fashion Week. He  had his leg amputated at 16 years old and after this he dedicated himself to fitness.

It all feels so surreal – I can’t believe this is actually happening! To be the first male amputee model on a New York Fashion Week runway feels amazing – it feels like such a big deal. I just want to show that having a disability doesn’t need to hold you back. I want people to see me, and to realize that there needs to be more disabled models walking the runway
